We catch up with our Skintopia Wellington team to check in and see what they're getting up to during the lockdown period, and most importantly how they're looking after themselves and their skin!
Hayley - Business Manager
Question 1: What is your top product at the moment and why?
At the moment I am loving Calm Water Gel as it leaves my skin feeling nourished and hydrated throughout the whole day and works well under a physical block such as Invisible Physical Defense SPF30. It’s perfect for sensitive skins while the weather can’t seem to make its mind up!
Question 2: What are you doing for your wellbeing during this period?
Daily walks, at home workouts and spending more time with my 8 month old daughter!
Hayley's quick tip:
I’m missing my LED skin treatments (so much!), so I’m sleeping in a masque every few nights to help keep my skin hydrated and barrier function the best that it can be until I can get back under the LED.

Question 1: What is your top product at the moment and why?
My top product is Rapid Reveal Peel because it is the at-home equivalent of an in-clinic treatment. It keeps my skin fresh, smooth and bright.
Question 2: What are you doing for your wellbeing during this period?
During this period to keep myself sane (other than Netflix and wine 😉), I am walking my dog , playing with my son and cooking.
Kirstie's quick tip:
Use Rapid Reveal Peel to get an in-clinic result from an at-home product.

Question 1: What is your top product at the moment and why?
My favourite Dermalogica product at the moment is the Skin Perfect Primer SPF30. I'm not doing a full make up routine in lock down but I still like my skin to have a healthy glow so I'm wearing this primer instead of foundation.
Question 2: What are you doing for your wellbeing during this period?
To look after my wellbeing I'm eating really healthy (this is helped by no take out for a month!) and I'm taking my Beauty Chef Glow Powder every day. I've also set myself the goal of being able to run 10k in under an hour by the end of April. So far this is helping keep me motivated to get out running although when I set this goal I forgot to take into account that I live in the hills of Wellington so it might be harder then I first thought! I'm also keeping up my daily Dermalogica skin care routine because I'm not bothering with daily make up at the moment.
Catherine's quick tip:
While my clients are at home I hope that they aren't getting carried away over plucking their eyebrows. I'd rather have over grown eyebrows to work with that need a complete reshape, than gappy miss shaped eyebrows that need to be regrown to undo the damage. I know we are all a little bored but I hope they leave their eyebrows alone!

Question 1: What is your top product at the moment and why?
My top product is Skin Hydrating Masque. With the weather getting colder and the wind increasing, my skin is feeling a bit more dry so I have been sleeping in this a few times a week to keep my skin feeling super hydrated!
Question 2: What are you doing for your wellbeing during this period?
For my wellbeing I have set aside time each day to exercise so I can keep on top of my fitness. I set up an area in the house dedicated for my workouts!
Sam's quick tip:
While everyone is at home, keep your normal routine of waking up and washing you face and your nightly routine, but make the most of being able to have makeup free days will be awesome for your skin!
Whitney - Skin Therapist
Question 1: What is your top product at the moment and why?
My top product at the moment would be Daily Microfoliant. I feel like being inside all day makes me feel sluggish and it’s nice to have a product like daily micro to feel a little bit brighter!
Question 2: What are you doing for your wellbeing during this period?
I try to wake up at a normal working day time and do a morning routine and I’m really making sure I’m either going for a run or bike ride or doing my les mills online classes! Makes me feel so much better to move my body and get some air! Also cooking a lot more than I usually would and trying new things which is great fun.
Whitney's quick tip:
Something I would recommend for clients who have regular skin treatments would be to give yourself a little at home treatment maybe once a week or fortnight. This includes a double cleanse, exfoliation, putting a mask on and maybe have a bath if that’s something you enjoy, then put on your serums and moisturiser and YouTube how to do a self-facial massage! It’s important to take some time for yourself.
