It's Brow Month, and we’re here to guide you on your eyebrow journey.
We have all been there with the over-plucking, waxing, and tinting. This month it’s time to leave it to the experts.
At Skintopia were experts at brow tinting, shaping, and brow lamination. This is the perfect trio for low-maintenance full brows.
Brow lamination is essentially a brow hair texturizing treatment. It refers to a process in which a brow specialist softens the hair follicle using a chemical solution and then re-shapes, or sets, it into a more refined, lifted, smoother shape. Generally, brow lamination lasts from four to six weeks. Depending on how well you look after your brows, it can last up to eight weeks.
If you are after more of a permanent solution Skintopia offers Cosmetic Brow tattooing.
Cosmetic brow tattooing has become increasingly popular over the last few years and has evolved so much with different styles and variations. This is great because if you’re getting permanent brows, you have many options to choose from and you can get your brows looking exactly how you want them. Cosmetic eyebrow tattooing is a great option for those who want to save time filling in their eyebrows, those with little to no brow hair and those of us who just want a bit of extra colour and definition without the fuss!
To determine what is going to be the best brow for you, book a cosmetic brow tattoo consultation at Skintopia. We have different types of brow tattooing on offer, including ombre, powder, feather strokes and combination brows, so your Brow Specialist will be able to discuss these options with you. We do a full brow map, where we create a brow that matches your facial features perfectly! You also receive a brow shape, so there is no need for you to do this before your appointment.
Please keep in mind that eyebrow tattooing is LOW maintenance, not NO maintenance, so if you have fair eyebrows and need tinting it is very likely you will still need to get them tinted, however the need for this is less frequent and MUCH less maintenance.

Today, Gua Sha (pronounced “gwa shaa”) is one of the most popular natural face sculpting techniques in the industry. Its origin dates back thousands of years and involves scraping the skin to eliminate toxins, waste products, tension, and pain.
Did you know you can Guasha your eyebrows to achieve a lifted look?
Brow lift Gua Sha Guide
Place the long side of the Gua Sha to cover the brow and lift by slowly gliding the Gua Sha from right under the brow and up towards the hairline. Repeat 10 times with medium pressure. The more flat you can have the gua sha, the better.
If you have crows' feet, use side 4 in gentle, brisk, and light movements across the lines. Make sure you don't move the skin back and forth but rather stimulate the skin surface. Hold the skin tight with your other hand.
Use one of the heart "bows" of the Gua Sha or the short end with a feather light pressure around and below the eye, from the other corner of the eye towards the inner corner, continue over the eye lid and stop when you each the outer corner of the eye again. Repeat 10 circles around the eyes.
When treating the forehead, you start between your brows and glide the Gua Sha up towards the hairline with side 4 of the Gua Sha. Repeat 10 times with medium pressure.
Turn side 4 and now glide back and forth or up and down the entire forehead, spending more time on tense areas. If you carry tension between the brows you can use the short side of the gua sha with medium to firm pressure to relax the muscle.
