The Carbon Laser Facial has been all over my TikTok For You page for weeks now, and I was so intrigued by the amazing results it seemed to deliver. My Experience
I was looking for a treatment that would give me that glowy, event-ready skin, so I headed to Skintopia in Takapuna to see the experts. The consultation was very thorough to ensure I was a good candidate for the treatment, and then they took me to the treatment room.
I'll admit, I was a bit nervous! The videos I'd seen online made it look a bit like tattoo removal. But during the treatment itself, I could have almost fallen asleep! All I could really feel was a slight warming sensation and a very light flicking sensation. It was totally comfortable and not at all what I was expecting.
After the treatment, my face was a little red, but that subsided within a few hours. I was told to avoid hot showers, strenuous exercise, and anything else that might irritate my skin for 24 hours. I also stuck to a very simple skincare routine for the next few days and avoided wearing makeup for the following day.
The Results
I was so incredibly happy with the results! My skin looked absolutely radiant and glowy, exactly what I was hoping for. I even got compliments on my skin from people who had never seen me without makeup before!
I do have some post-acne pigmentation, and it actually looked a bit more noticeable the day after the treatment. But I was assured by the skin therapist that this was because the laser had brought it to the surface of the skin so it could be treated. Now, a couple of weeks later, that pigmentation is definitely lighter and less noticeable than before the treatment.
